This is the only known work of the sculptor.

Depicted in Carmelite habit, her right hand indicates the heart, perhaps alluding to the mystical exchange with Christ. In her left hand is a flowering branch, perhaps roses which is her traditional attribute.

On 18 July 1702, he undertook to deliver the statue by that date of the following year. During this time he received payment of 80 scudi.

Her left hand holds the palm of martyrdom
Susanna is said to have been the daughter of St Gabinus, and was beheaded by command of Diocletian, in her father's house, which was turned into a church.

Sculptor - Alessandro Palma
The statue, classical in structure and well-modeled in the face is the only known work of the artist.
Height - 3.1 m. (10ft 4in) travertine
The saint, her face framed by short hair, is dressed in a traditional tunic while holding the palm of martyrdom in the right hand.
