Amos 5:6-14

عاموس ٥ : ٦ – ١٤
Seek ye the Lord,
and ye shall live; lest the house of Joseph
blaze as fire, and it devour him, and there
shall be none to quench it for the house of
Israel. It is he that executes judgment in the
height above, and he has established justice on
the earth: who makes all things, and changes
them, and turns darkness into the morning, and
darkens the day into night: who calls for the
water of the sea, and pours it out on the face
of the earth: the Lord is his name: who
dispenses ruin to strength, and brings distress
upon the fortress. They hated him that reproved
in the gates, and abhorred holy speech.
Therefore because they have smitten the poor
with their fists, and ye have received of them
choice gifts; ye have built polished houses, but
ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted
desirable vineyards, but ye shall not drink the
wine of them. For I know your many
transgressions, and your sins are great,
trampling on the just, taking bribes, and
turning aside the judgment of the poor in the
gates. Therefore the prudent shall be silent at
that time; for it is a time of evils. Seek good,
and not evil, that ye may live.

أطلبوا الرب
فتحيوا. لئلا يتقد بيت يوسف كنار فيحترق وليس من
يطفئ من بيت إسرائيل. الرب يصنع حكماً في العلى.
ووضع العدل على الأرض. هو الذي خلق كل الأشياء
وينقلها الذي يحول الظل صباحاً ويغشى النهار
بالليل. الذي يدعو مياه البحر فيفيضها على وجه
الرض كلها الرب الاله الضابط الكل هو أسمه. المنزل
الأنحطام على القوة ويأتي بالدمار على الموضع
الحصين. لقد أبغضوا الموبخ في الأبواب ونجسوا
الكلام الطاهر. من أجل ذلك هذا ما يقول الرب. بما
أنكم ضربتم المساكين على رؤسهم. أخذتم منهم هدايا
فاخرة. شيدتم بيوتا حسنة ولا تسكنون فيها. وغرستم
كروما مختارة ولا تشربون من خمرها. فأنى عالم
بنفاقكم الكثير وخطاياكم المتجددة. تدوسون البار
وتأخذون الرشوة وتصدون البائسين من الأبواب. لذلك
يسكت العاقل في ذلك الزمان لأنه زمان رديء. فاطلبوا
الخير لا الشر لتحيوا : مجداً للثالوث الأقدس.

المقدس إلهنا إلى الأبد وإلى أبد الآبدين كلها.

6 اطلبوا الرب فتحيوا لئلا
يقتحم بيت يوسف كنار تحرق ولا يكون من يطفئها من بيت ايل* 7 يا ايها الذين يحولون
الحق افسنتينا ويلقون البر إلى الارض* 8 الذي صنع الثريا والجبار ويحول ظل الموت
صبحا ويظلم النهار كالليل الذي يدعو مياه البحر ويصبها على وجه الارض يهوه اسمه* 9
الذي يفلح الخرب على القوي فياتي الخرب على الحصن* 10 انهم في الباب يبغضون المنذر
ويكرهون المتكلم بالصدق* 11 لذلك من اجل انكم تدوسون المسكين وتاخذون منه هدية قمح
بنيتم بيوتا من حجارة منحوتة ولا تسكنون فيها وغرستم كروما شهية ولا تشربون خمرها*
12 لاني علمت ان ذنوبكم كثيرة وخطاياكم وافرة ايها المضايقون البار الاخذون الرشوة
الصادون البائسين في الباب* 13 لذلك يصمت العاقل في ذلك الزمان لانه زمان رديء* 14
اطلبوا الخير لا الشر لكي تحيوا. *
