عرض أبناء يعقوب قميص يوسف لأبيهم: عاد أبناء يعقوب إلى البيت بعد أن باعوا أخاهم يوسف. يعقوب يرى قميص يوسف. مزقوه من بعض المواضع ووضعوا عليه دم تيس. قالوا ليعقوب إنهم وجدوه هكذا في الحقل؛ فيعرف، كما يقولون، إن كان قميص يوسف أم لا. عرفه، ثم صاح: "إنه قميص ابني يوسف؛ قتله وحش بري"." - من كتاب "صور الكتاب المقدس"، و. أ. فوستر، 1897 م.
