Jesus told them that In His Name repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. ‘You are witnesses of these things,’ Jesus explained. ‘I am going to send the Holy Spirit who will give you power from on high.’ Jesus opened their minds so they could understand from the scriptures that it had been written He would suffer and die then rise from the dead. He told them they would tell others this good news and urge people to turn to God and be forgiven In the name of Jesus. Jesus then disappeared from their sight.
