Thomas, the doubting. - Thomas was not with the disciples when the Lord Jesus appeared to them when they were together. When Thomas knew that,he did not believe them but said, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you” Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. توما الشكاك - لم يكن توما مع التلاميذ عندما ظهر لهم الرب يسوع أول مرة في العلية حيث كانوا مجتمعون. ولم يصدق توما عندما علم بما حدث، بل قال: "إن لم أبصر في يديه أثر المسامير وأضع يدي في جنبه لا أومن" وبعد ثمانية أيام حيث كان جميع التلاميذ وتوما معهم مجتمعين، جاء يسوع والأبواب مغلقة ووقف في الوسط ثم جعل توما يلمس جروح يديه وجنبه وقال له "هذا لكي لا تكن غير مؤمن بل مؤمناً"، عندئذ آمن توما قائلاً "ربي وإلهي". فعاتبه الرب يسوع قائلاً "لأنك رأيتني يا توما آمنت! طوبى للذين آمنوا ولم يروا".(إنجيل يوحنا 20: 29) - صور الإنجيل من إن إتش بي.
