The birth of John the Baptist - His mother Elizabeth and his father Zacharias became old without having children. The archangel Gabriel appeared to him while praying and told him that his prayers were answered and his wife would bear his son. His name would be John and he would be great in the sight of the Lord. Zacharias didn’t believe the angel so he told him that he would remain mute and not be able to speak until the words of the angel come true.
