162- St. TaklaHimanot Monastery, Lake Tana Island

 دير أنبا تكلا هيمانوت، جزيرة بحيرة تانا

We finished that at about 10:50, then we started walking up the mountain at the same island, as there was a Monastery by the name of Saint Taklehaimanot there..  We walked in the woods for about 45 minutes non-stop..  The nature is very nice there, and relaxing serenity..  The whole area is filled with trees and grass..  There are a lot of animals, birds, insects of various kinds like worms and beautiful butterflies..  Our aim on that day was not trekking in the woods to take some shots..  Also the animals and birds were very fast in running away and disguising between the trees..  We saw monkeys, squirrels, colorful birds, big butterflies (one of them the distance between its wings is more than 15 cm.), in addition to some other animals..

إنتهينا من هذا الساعة الحادية عشر إلا عشرة دقائق، ثم بدأنا في السير في نفس الجزيرة للصعود لأعلى الجبل، لوجود دير باسم القديس تكلا هيمانوت هناك..  وقمنا بالسير في الغابة لمدة 45 دقيقة بدون توقف..  وكانت الطبيعة جميلة جداً، والهدوء مريح للأعصاب..  وكل المكان ممتلئ بالأشجار والحشائش..  وهناك العديد من الحيوانات والطيور والحشرات المختلفة من ديدان وفراشات جميلة..  لم يكن هدف هذا اليوم هو السير في الغابة للتصوير ومشاهدة الطبيعة..  وكذلك كانت الحيوانات والطيور سريعة جداً في الهروب والتخفي بين الأشجار..  فقد رأينا قردة وسناجب وطيور ملونة وفراشات كبيرة ملونة أحدها المسافة بين جناحيها أكثر من 15 سم..  بالإضافة لبعض الحيوانات الأخرى..

We arrived at the Monastery at 11:45 am., and one of the monks took us in a tour at the church, unfortunately I learned that the church of the Monastery had been burned many times!  Maybe because of people around the area burn the long Savanna Grass in front of their homes, or maybe someone did it on purpose..  The church is built from wood, mud and hay, in the mid-fifties of the 20th century, and it had no icons..  And because of the Monastery and the Church is far away from the shore, it gets very few visitors, and no tourists to visit it, so it is so poor, and needs donations desperately, to continue building the Church and the Monastery..

وصلنا إلى الدير 11:45 صباحاً، وقام أحد الآباء الرهبان بأخذنا في جولة بالكنيسة، ولكن للأسف علمت أن كنيسة الدير قد احترقت عدة مرات!  ربما بسبب قيام بعض المقيمين بالمنطقة بحرق حشائش السافانا الطويلة الموجودة أمام منازلهم، أو ربما يكون بفعل فاعل..  والكنيسة الموجودة مبنية من الخشب والطين والقش في منتصف الخمسينيات من القرن العشرين، ولم يتم رسم أي أيقونات فيها..  وبسبب بُعد الدير والكنيسة عن شاطئ الجزيرة، ووضعه فوق الجبل، وأيضاً عدم وجود أي طابع فني أو أثري فيه، يأتي إليه قليلاً جداً من الزائرين، ولا يوجد أي سواح يقومون بزيارته، لذا أصبح هذا الدير فقيراً جداً، وبحاجة ماسة إلى تبرعات، لإكمال بناء الكنيسة والدير..

The Monastery has ten monks, I talked with three, and one of them got out a big picture for Saint Taklehaimanot from the Holy Altar of the Church, someone donated it to the church, and it is drawn underneath some men carrying logs of wood to build the church, with Saint Takle Haimanot blessing them, and on the other side some men carrying water from the lake (Lake Tana), and climbing up the mountain to the Monastery to deliver the water that is needed for the construction..

الدير به عشرة رهبان، تحدثت مع ثلاثة منهم، ثم قام أحدهم بإخراج صورة ضخمة للقديس تكلا هيمانوت الحبشي من أحد الهياكل بالكنيسة، وقد تبرع بها أحد الأشخاص للكنيسة، وبها مرسوم في أسفلها بعض من الرجال يحملون قطع من الخشب لبناء هذه الكنيسة، والقديس تكلا هيمانوت يباركهم، وعلى الطرف الآخر رجال يحملون الماء من البحيرة (بحيرة تانا)، ويصعدون إلى الدير فوق الجبل لتوصيل الماء اللازم للبناء..
