4- The Holy Trinity Church

 كنيسة الثالوث القدوس

After that I went to visit the Holy Trinity Church in Arat Kilo also, and it is the Church that H. H. Pope Shenouda III visited on April 11, 2008 after arriving to Addis Ababa.  You will see beautiful statues of Angels and the four Evangelists outside the church..  Inside the church there is a big icon for the Holy Trinity with the Holy Angels, the Emperor's and Empress' Seats, but they are not currently used, but kept as a monument..  It is important to note that this church has some frescos on the walls for Emperor Hail Selasee at various significant times of his life..  Also it has some beautiful stained glass icons on the windows of the church..  Left to the altar there is the burial place of Emperor Hailslasee and his wife the Empress.  As usual you can find many worshipers around the church, in a high state of humility and prayer, regardless of any weather states or anything..

بعد ذلك قمت بزيارة كنيسة الثالوث القدوس في أرات كليو أيضاً، وهي الكنيسة التي زارها قداسة البابا شنوده الثالث يوم 11 إبريل 2008 بعد وصوله إلى أديس أبابا.  وتجد التماثيل الجميلة للملائكة والإنجيليين الأربعة خارج الكنيسة..  وداخل الكنيسة تجد صورة كبيرة للثالوث القدوس مع الملائكة القديسين، وبها كرسي الإمبراطور والإمبراطورة، وهو لا يُستخدم حالياً، بل محفوظ كقطع أثرية..  ومن الجدير بالذكر في هذه الكنيسة وجود صور ورسومات على الحوائط تصور الإمبراطور هيلاسلاسي ቀዳማዊ ኃይለ ሥላሴ في مواقف هامة متنوعة..  ويوجد بها لوحات زجاج معشق Stained Glass رائعة على الشبابيك.  وموجود بالكنيسة مدفن الإمبراطور هيلاسلاسي وزوجته الإمبراطورة.  وكالعادة تجد الناس خارج أبواب الكنيسة أكثر في حالات مرتفعة من الخشوع والصلاة والتضرع إلى الله..  في أي جو، وفي أي ظروف.. 

After this I went to a museum inside the church by the name of “Silasee Museum” or “Trinity”, inside it there were many artifacts, manuscripts of church books like the Book of Praise, imperial clothing, beautiful candleholders, antique umbrellas used at the churches, Holy Bible handwritten manuscripts.. etc.  Also we found an Arabic manuscript, and the “Annunciation” Bible liturgy piece, and it was a gift from the Coptic Orthodox Church in Alexandria.  The most important piece is a golden piece that has the shape of a hand, inside it is the bones of the right hand of Saint Tadawos the apostle, and it is given to the Ethiopian Church by Archbishop Bazigen the first of Armenia in 1966.  The church itself also has some tombs..

بعد هذا ذهبت إلى متحف موجود داخل الكنيسة باسم متحف سيلاسي (الثالوث)، وبه كثير من الأعمال الفنية والمخطوطات والملابس الإمبراطورية الرسمية..  وشمعدانات الشموع الرائعة، والشماسي الأثرية المُستخدمة في الخدمة المقدسة في الكنائس – مخطوطات باليد للكتاب المقدس وكتب الكنيسة مثل التسبحة وغيره..   وأيضاً وجدنا مخطوط باللغة العربية، و"البشارة" المستخدمة في صلاة القداس الإلهي مُهداة من الكنيسة القبطية في الإسكندرية.  وأهم القطع الموجودة هي قطعة ذهبية على شكل يد، موجود في داخلها عظام اليد اليُمنى للقديس تداوس الرسول، مُهداة من رئيس الأساقفة بازيجن الأول Bazigen 1st من أرمينيا عام 1966. والكنيسة نفسها بها أيضاً مدافن..

Then I took a cab for St. Gorgis Church (Saint George Church) which is nearby, but unfortunately I found the doors closed, but there were lots of people praying outside and by the gates of the church..

ثم أخذت تاكسي للذهاب إلى كنيسة القديس جورجيس (مارجرجس) القريبة، ولكن للأسف وجدت الأبواب مغلقة، ولكن كان بها كثير من المتعبدين بالخارج وعلى أبواب الكنيسة..

Then I went back to the Patriarchate, and I found an article in a newspaper (The Ethiopian Herald) at the first page, about the visit of Pope Shenouda III, titled: “The Egyptian Ambassador: The visit of Pope Shenoda III strengthens Ethio-Egypt relations”.  The article was covering the press conference held by the Egyptian Ambassador Tarek Ghoneim about the event.

عدت بعد ذلك لمقر قداسة البابا أبونا باولص بطريرك الحبشة، ووجدت إحدى الجرائد اليومية الحبشية وهي جريدة The Ethiopian Herald وضعت في صفحتها الأولى مقالاً حول زيارة قداسة البابا شنوده الثالث إلى الحبشة تحت عنوان: "السفير المصري: زيارة البابا شنوده الثالث تعمق العلاقات الإثيوبية-المصرية".  وكان المقال تغطية للقاء الصحفي الذي أقامه السفير المصري طارق غنيم.
