Stela of Naukratis and Herakleion-Thonis (image 24): Two identical stelae were found on both sides of the Canopic branch of the Nile, date back to the reign of King Nectanebo I (380-362 BC). It has 14 columns of text record a royal decree allocating 10 per cent of taxes on merchandise passing through the harbour of Herakleion-Thonis, in addition to similar transactions and local productions in Naukratis (now Kom Geif), to the temple of the goddess Neith (equivalent of Greek Athena) in Sais (Sa el-Hagar, Egypt). - Black basalt. - Greco-Roman Museum, Alexandria, Egypt - Photograph by Michael Ghaly for St-Takla.org, 24 July 2025.
