This image displays a taxidermy specimen of a Southern Cassowary (Casuarius casuarius), a large flightless bird native to the tropical rainforests of Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and northeastern Australia. The specimen is shown within a glass display case and features characteristic traits of the species, such as a tall, brownish-grey horn-like casque on its head, a bright blue featherless neck and face, and two prominent red wattles hanging from its throat.
