Very early Sunday morning |
Very early Sunday morning
While the guards were at the scene
Jesus has risen declaring
Victory no more defeat
Jesus has risen declaring
Victory no more defeat
+------------- Refrain -------------+

Resurrection is my song
Resurrection gave me life
Resurrection made me strong
Jesus, my Lord is alive

Resurrection made me strong
Jesus, my Lord is alive

+-----------------------------------+
Jesus is risen in glory
Heaven and earth sang and praised
And the angel told the story
He is risen as He said
And the angel told the story
He is risen as He said
-oO0Oo-
Mary Magdalene was looking
In the garden for her Lord
While Jesus Himself was telling
Her to go and spread the word
While Jesus Himself was telling
Her to go and spread the word
-oO0Oo-
All the disciples were praying
They were really in great fear
When mary came to them saying
He is risen He is not there
When mary came to them saying
He is risen He is not there
-oO0Oo-
While they gathered in the room
Jesus Christ Himself appeared
Said My peace I gave to you
And My peace with you I leave
Said My peace I gave to you
And My peace with you I leave
-oO0Oo-
But Thomas did not believe
What the disciples had seen
So Jesus again appeared
Showed Him the place of the spear
So Jesus again appeared
Showed Him the place of the spear
-oO0Oo-
Tell the Mary's no more mourning
Among the dead do not seek
For Jesus Our Lord is living
Giving power to the weak
For Jesus Our Lord is living
Giving power to the weak
-oO0Oo-
Jesus My victorious Lord
Conquered the powers of hades
And the thorns of death He broke
My salvation He declared
And the thorns of death He broke
My salvation He declared
-oO0Oo-
The heavenly hosts were singing
Welcoming our glorious Lord
And the joy is overwhelming
He opened the doors of hope
And the joy is overwhelming
He opened the doors of hope
-oO0Oo-
Alleluia Alleluia
Risen is the Lord of peace
Alleluia Alleluia
Truly He's risen indeed!
Alleluia Alleluia
Truly He's risen indeed!
-oO0Oo-

* Some versions write the second line: "While the guards
were still asleep", however the right one should be like: "While the guards
were at the scene" as the Holy Bible doesn't say they were asleep.
In fact they should have been much more watchful the third day, as it was
already thought that the disciples might steal Jesus' body at the third day
"On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief
priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, saying, “Sir, we
remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three
days I will rise.’ Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the
third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away" (Mat.
27:62-64). And the tomb was "secure as it could be" (Mat. 27:65).
Also in the day of the resurrection, "there was a great earthquake"
(Mat. 28: 2), and who would be asleep during such times, along with the Holy
Bible saying directly that the guards were awake, as it said they were
trembling by the sight of the angel: "the guards shook for fear of him,
and became like dead men" (Mat. 28:4).
* The line could also be changed to "While the people were asleep".
