231- Tickets for the monastery!!!

 تذاكر للدير!!!

Of course there was an expensive ticket to enter the Church as the Ethiopians do in their places, in a way that is against Christianity, this is not a monument for tourists, it is a religious place..  It is not about the money, the website of Saint Taklehaimanot donated to the Monasteries of Saint Taklehaimanot (Debre Libanos Monastery, Gadam Takla Himanot in Lake Tana, Monastery of Saint Taklehaimanot in Bahir Dar) in larger amounts of money..  But the matter of this “tickets” thing is simply unacceptable even if they try to justify it in any way..

بالطبع كان هناك تذكرة غالية للدخول إلى الدير كعادة الأماكن الحبشية بصورة لا توافق المسيحية، فهذا ليس أثر سياحي بل مكان ديني..  وليس هنا اعتراضنا على المال، فقد تبرع موقع الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت لأديرة القديس تكلا هيمانوت (ديبرا ليبانوس، دير الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت في بحيرة تانا، دير الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت في بحر دار، ولاحقاً في دير إتيسا تكلاهيمانوت) بمبالغ أكثر بكثير..  ولكن أمر "التذاكر" هذا ببساطة غير مقبول مهما كان تبريره..

Also, I think it is a habit for the Ethiopian Church represented in monks, priests and others to accept money, even to ask for it directly!  Maybe the reason was the intervention of the Christian Emperors in the Church in various Ethiopian times, ending with Emperor Haile Selassie, and showering monks and Monastery with money and lands..  It became a habit unlike what monks should be like, as Saint Anthony the Egyptian was the establisher of the monasticism in the whole world, and from His time till this day nothing like these farces happen!!  At least it is not part of monasticism, and if it happened it was due to personal faults..

أيضاً، أظن أنها هنا عادة الكنيسة الحبشية من رهبان وكهنة وغيره بقبول المال، بل وطلبه من الناس بصورة مباشرة!  ربما يكون هذا بسبب تدخل الأباطرة المسيحيون في الكنيسة في عصور الحبشة المختلفة، نهاية بالإمبراطور هيلاسلاسي، وإغداقهم على الرهبان والأديرة بالمال والأراضي..  فصارت هذه عادة على غير عادة الرهبان، حيث أن القديس الأنبا أنطونيوس المصري هو مؤسس الرهبنة في العالم، من وقته وحتى هذا اليوم لا تحدث هذه المهازل!!  أو على الأقل ليست جزء من الرهبنة، بل إن حدثت تكون بسبب خطأ شخصي..

I had to give money also to the monk that helped me up, for him and not for the Monastery!!!

فكان ينبغي أن أعطي مبلغاً من المال أيضاً للراهب الذي ساعدني في الصعود، وهو مبلغ خاص به وليس للدير!!!
