I arrived to Axum, it is a city, although simple, but more civilized than Gondar, with wide streets.. I booked a hotel beside the famous Axum obelisks, and when I got there, I learned that there are seven main historical places to be visited, so I postponed the visit for the second day. I went today to Saint Mariam of Tsheion Beita Krystian (St. Mary of Zion Church), which was an ancient Church that had been destroyed many times.. In the land of the Church there is the old Church of the Monastery, and they allow no women to enter, and there is a new Church that everyone can enter..
وصلت إلى أكسوم، وهي مدينة -مع بساطتها- أكثر تحضراً من جوندر، وذات شوارع أوسع.. وقمت بحجز فندق بجوار المسلات الأكسومية الشهيرة، وذهبت للدخول، وعلمت أنه هناك حوالي سبعة أماكن رئيسية يتم زيارتها، فأرجأت الأمر للغد. وذهبت في ذلك اليوم إلى كنيسة القديسة مريم من صهيون، وهي كنيسة أثرية هُدِمت عدة مرات.. وفي أرض الكنيسة يوجد كنيسة الدير القديمة، وهي غير مسموح للنساء بالدخول فيها، ويوجد الكنيسة الحديثة التي يدخلها الكل..

The new building of the Church is one of the best Habeshan Churches, in the shape of large circle.. There are stained glass windows, with no paintings.. On the Iconostasis there are some icons, some new and some old from the previous ruined Churches..
مبنى الكنيسة الحديثة من أروع مباني الكنائس في الحبشة، وهو على شكل دائرة ضخمة.. وبها نوافذ زجاج ملون، غير مرسوم.. وعلى حجاب الهيكل يوجد بعض الأيقونات ما بين حديث، وقديم من الكنائس الأخرى المهدمة..
