I woke up late at 6.30 am because of being so tired from the day before..  and I had to be at the Airport at 6.15..!

استيقظت الساعة 6.30 متأخراً اليوم بسبب شدة التعب من الأمس..  وكان ينبغي أن أكون في المطار في السادسة والربع..!

There were one of the Monasteries that we wanted to visit, which is “Hayq Estifanos” Monastery in Dessie county, the word “Hayk” means “lake” in Amharic Language..  That Monastery was the one that Saint Taklehaimanot was ordained as a monk at..  But the road to it from either Addis Ababa or Makaleh takes about ten hours by car!!  And there were no flights that go over there..   My experience was that the Habeshenian roads were not comfortable..!  I decided not to go to that Monastery, and just get some information about it to put it on the website..  I told myself, if I lost the plane the next day, I might think of going there if it got any easier!!

كان هناك أحد الأديرة التي كنا نبغي زيارتها، وهو دير "هايك استيفانوس" في بلدة "ديسّي"، وكلمة هايك تعني بحيرة بالأمهرية..  وهو الدير الذي ترهَّب فيه القديس تكلا هيمانوت..  ولكن كان الطريق له من أديس أبابا أو من مكاليه يستغرق حوالي عشرة ساعات بالعربة!!  ولا توجد أي طائرات تذهب إلى هناك..  وخبرتي في الطرق الحبشية ليست مريحة..!  فقررت عدم الذهاب لذلك الدير، والحصول على بعض المعلومات عنه لوضعها في الموقع..  وقلت لنفسي، إن فاتتني الطائرة بالغد، ربما أفكر في الذهاب إلى هناك إذا تم تسهيل الأمر!!

Indeed, because I couldn’t find a single taxi or a car that went to the airport till 7.45, I thought that it was better to go to the Airport either ways, as all the Ethiopian Airlines flights get delayed!  I arrived at the Airport at 8.10, five minutes before the flight, of course I was not allowed to get on the plane, as it was the first one not to be delayed much!!  But I was told that there was another one at 10.30, and I preferred to wait, as there were some things that we should settle in Addis Ababa, and go to “Ettissa”, which was our last station for us..  Which was the birthplace of Saint Taklehaimanot..  After that get to Egypt God willing in the next few weeks..

وبالفعل، بسبب عدم إيجاد أي تاكسي أو عربة تذهب للمطار حتى الثامنة إلا الربع، رأيت أن أذهب إلى المطار على أي الأحوال، حيث أن جميع رحلات طيران الشركة الحبشية تتأخر!  ووصلت في 8.10، قبل موعد الطائرة بخمس دقائق، وبالطبع لم يتم السماح لي بالصعود على الطائرة، لأن هذه أول طائرة لن تتأخر كثيراً عن موعدها!!  ولكن قيل لي بوجود طائرة أخرى في العاشرة والنصف، وآثرت الانتظار، لأنه كان ينبغي أن ننهي بعض الأمور في أديس أبابا، ونذهب إلى "إتيسّا"، وهو المحطة الأخيرة لنا..  وهو مكان ولادة القديس تكلا هيمانوت..  بعدها العودة إلى مصر بمشيئة الله خلال أسابيع قليلة..

The flight arrived at Addis Ababa thank God at 1.00 noontime..  After a 17 days journey we had in North Ethiopia for tens of Holy and historical places..  Of which places never visited by any Egyptians before, and others never seen by any tourists that come to Habasha before..

عادت الطائرة إلى أديس أبابا الحمد لله في الواحدة ظهراً..  بعد رحلة لمدة 17 يوماً قمنا بها في شمال إثيوبيا لعشرات الأماكن المقدسة والتاريخية..  منها أماكن لم تطأها أقدام أي مصري من قبل، وأماكن أخرى لم يرها أي من السواح الذين يأتون للحبشة من قبل..
