They are Syrian and Egyptian Coptic monks who came to Ethiopia after Frementious (Abba Salama), and established many monasteries, and expanded evangelism.  Before they came to Ethiopia, they were in the monastery of St. Anthony for several years in the deserts of Egypt.  Some people considered them as Ethiopians who lived in this monastery.
وهم قديسين من سوريا و قديسين من الكنيسة القبطية الأرثوذكسية في مصر، أتوا إلى إثيوبيا بعد القديس فريمينتوس (الأنبا سلامة)، وأسسوا العديد من الأديرة، وقاموا بالتبشير أكثر.  وقبل حضهورهم إلى الحبشة، كانوا في دير الأنبا أنطونيوس في صحراء مصر لعدة سنوات.  وقد اعتبرهم البعض كأحباش عاشوا في هذا الدير.

The Saint Abune Argawi, who founded the Monastery of Debre Damo, the one that St. Teklehaimanout fell from and got the six wings..  Here the icon shows how He climbed the mountain with the help of Archangel Mikail, who ordered a huge serpent to assist the Saint without harming Him.  There He established the first monastic school in Ethiopia
القديس أبونا الأنبا أرجاوي، مؤسس دير ديبرا دامو، وهو الذي سقط من أعلاه الأتبا تكلاهيمانوت وأعطاه الله ستة أجنحة..  وفي الصورة يظهر وهو يتسلق الجبل بمساعدة الملاك ميخائيل، الذي أمر حية كبيرة بمساعدة القديس بدون أن تؤذيه.  وهناك أسس أول مدرسة رهبانية حبشية
