Synaxarium, Synaxarion, Synexarium, Synexarion, pl. Synaxaria (from a Greek word meaning synagein, to bring together; cf. etymology of "synaxis" and "synagogue") , the name given in the Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches to a compilation of hagiographies of Saints and Martyrs, along with some Church-related events, arranged in the order of their anniversaries.
Ancient Egyptians named their months by the names of their Gods that they used to worship, and they built temples for them. These names go well with the annual seasons, seeding-times and air condition. They used to make celebrations for each Egyptian God at his month..
This version of the Synaxarium here at St-Takla.org is divided by daily events, and there is another version of the Synaxarion divided by day.
