 اليوم الثاني في دير ديبرا ليبانوس

May 21, 2008 (second day in Debre Libanos Monastery)

I woke up after 12 hours-sleep, and took a car to the Monastery, instead of walking for 4.2 km.  When I arrived in the morning, I expressed my wish to visit the area around the Monastery of Churches and other places..  I saw some villages around the Monastery, and the river stream that I saw yesterday, but this time from the foot of the mountain..  Mainly there is no streaming water, as the wet season will start next month in June God willing..  I saw some Churches, but they were closed.

استيقظت اليوم حوالي التاسعة صباحاً بعد نوم 12 ساعة!  وأخذت عربة للذهاب إلى الدير، بدلاً من السير مسافة 4.2 كم.  وعندما وصلت صباحاً، أبديت رغبتي في الذهاب إلى الأماكن المحيطة بالدير من كنائس وغيره..  فرأيت بعض القرى المحيطة بالدير، ورأيت مجرى النهر الذي رأيته بالأمس، ولكن هذه المرة أسفل الجبل..  ولا توجد فيه مياه جارية تقريباً، حيث أن الموسم الممطر سوف يبدأ من الشهر القادم في يونيو بإذن الله..  ورأيت بعض الكنائس، ولكنها كانت مغلقة.

Heading to the villages  التوجه للقرية     The forests  الغابات   We were up there yesterday!  !كنا هناك في الأعلى بالأمس   Houses  منازل   Residents  سكان   Crossing the bridge  عبور الجسر     From a different side  من ناحية أخرى   Next month in June this will be filled with water God willing  الشهر القادم في يونيو سيكون هذا ممتلئ بالماء بإذن الله   An Ethiopian Monk wearing the usual hat, being sewed in a way representing the Crown of thorns of Jesus Christ راهب حبشي يرتدي القبعة المعتادة، وهي تم خياطتها بشكل معين لتمثل إكليل الشوك الخاص بالسيد المسيح   Saint Mary Church in the Nunnery  كنيسة السيدة العذراء في دير الراهبات
