218- Just 15 meters!!

 فقط 15 متراً!!

I new from the very first day of being in Ethiopia about that Monastery, and climbing up that way..  And it was on the plan to come to this Monastery as it has something to do with Saint Taklehaimanot’s life..  But climbing this way with the rope is easier said than done!

كنت أعرف من بداية وجودي في الحبشة عن هذا الدير، وعن طريقة الصعود هذه..  وكان في الخطة الحضور إلى هذا الدير لأن له علاقة بحياة القديس تكلا هيمانوت..  ولكن موضوع الصعود بالحبل هذا كان سهلاً بالكلام، ولكن الفعل غير ذلك!  Easier said than done!

There was no choice..  I am here now, and there is only one way to climb up..  So..  Let’s do it!  I took the laptop off the bag, to take it on my back in a smaller bag, then I tied the big bag in the rope for goods, and the monk pulled it up..

ولم يكن هناك بالطبع أي خيار..  فقد أتيت إلى هنا، ولا توجد سوى هذه الطريقة في الصعود..  إذن..  فلأصعد!  أخرجت اللاب توب من الشنطة -لآخذه على ظهري في شنطة أصغر- ثم ربطتها في حبل البضائع، وأصعدها الأب الراهب من أعلى..

I wasn’t ready to climb yet, one of the young men there started climbing as a kind of demonstration on how to climb and what to do, and gave me some tips that I should remember and do on the way up..  And after climbing about 40 meters, he showed me a corner inside the mountain about 15 cm. deep, to use it when I want to have some rest!

ولم أكن على استعداد بعد للصعود، فقام أحد الشباب الموجودين بعمل توضيح demonstration لي عن طريقة الصعود، وأعطاني بعض الأفكار المفيدة tips التي ينبغي أن أتذكرها وأقوم بعملها في طريقي للصعود..  وبعد صعوده حوالي 40 متراً، أراني ركناً في داخل الصخر عبارة عن 15 سم في الداخل، وهو ركن أستخدمه عندما أريد الراحة!
