Definitions:

* Education: Education encompasses teaching and learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, good judgment and wisdom. Education has as one of its fundamental goals the imparting of culture from generation to generation (see socialization).

* Educational Technology: Educational Technology combines technology equipment with state or national standards. It is important that teachers do not use technological equipment just for the sake of using technology. All teaching of the curriculum standards comes first. Then, teachers must see how technology can support that curriculum standard(s) and make learning interesting for students. The technology must enhance the lesson in order for the use of the lesson to be effective.

* Online Learning: What occurs when education and training (typically credit but also non-credit) are delivered and supported by networks such as the Internet or intranets. Learners are able to learn any time and any place. In this report, we use the terms "on-line learning" and "e-learning" interchangeably.
