Chapter 17
| 20 | Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation;

| 21 | nor will they say, "See here!' or "See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."
|
| 22 | Then He said to the disciples, "The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
|
| 23 | And they will say to you, "Look here!' or "Look there!' Do not go after them or follow them.
|
| 24 | For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.
|
| 25 | But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
|
| 26 | And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
|
| 27 | They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

| 28 | Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
|
| 29 | but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.

| 31 | "In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.

| 34 | I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left.

| 35 | Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left.

| 37 | And they answered and said to Him, "Where, Lord?" So He said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together."

John 20 : 1 - 18
Chapter 20
| 1 | Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.

| 2 | Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him."
|
| 3 | Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb.
|
| 4 | So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first.
|
| 5 | And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in.
|
| 6 | Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there,

| 7 | and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.

| 10 | Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.

| 13 | Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him."

| 14 | Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.

| 15 | Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away."

| 16 | Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher).
|
| 17 | Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, "I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God."'

Chapter 2
| 13 | For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

| 14 | For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans,

| 15 | who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men,
|
| 16 | forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

| 17 | But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored more eagerly to see your face with great desire.
|
| 18 | Therefore we wanted to come to you--even I, Paul, time and again--but Satan hindered us.

| 19 | For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?

| 9 | For what thanks can we render to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sake before our God,

Chapter 4
| 7 | Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

| 8 | Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

| 9 | Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
|
| 10 | Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
|
| 11 | Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

Chapter 5
| 1 | Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you!
|
| 2 | Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
|
| 3 | Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days.
|
| 4 | Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
|
| 5 | You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter.
|
Do not love the world or the things in the world.
The world passes away, and its desires; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Acts 11 : 19 - 30
Chapter 11
| 19 | Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.

| 20 | But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.
|
| 21 | And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
|
| 22 | Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch.

| 23 | When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.

| 24 | For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

| 25 | Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul.
|
| 26 | And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
|
| 27 | And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.
|
| 28 | Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.
|
| 29 | Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea.
|
| 30 | This they also did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
|
The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and be confirmed, in the holy Church of God.

Synaxarium
Day 22 of the Blessed Coptic Month of Misra, may God make it always received, year after year, with reassurance and tranquility, while our sins after forgiven by the tender mercies of our God my fathers and brothers.

The Twenty-Second Day of the Blessed Month of Misra
Departure of Micah, the Prophet
On this day, the great righteous prophet Micah,
departed. He prophesied about Samaria and Jerusalem during the time of
Jotham, Ahaz and Hezkiah, kings of Judeah. He prophesied about the incarnation
of the Lord, to Whom is the Glory, saying, "For behold, the Lord is coming
out of His high place. He will come down and tread on the high places of
the earth." (Micah 1:3) He prophesied about His birth in Bethlehem, saying,
"But you Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands
of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me. The one to be ruler in
Israel. Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."
(Micah 5:2) He prophesied about the futility of the Jewish temple and the going
forth of the Law of the Gospel from Zion, saying, " ... For out of Zion
the Law shall go forth, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."
(Micah 4:2) He also prophesied about the perdition of Ahab, king of Israel.
(Micah 5:15,16) When this prophet finished his strife in peace, he departed at
a good old age. He preceded the Lord Christ by about eight hundred years.
May his prayers be with us. Amen.
Martyrdom of St.Hadid
On this day also, in the
year 1103 A.M. (1387 A.D.), St. Hadid, was martyred. He was from the Giza
Governorate.

Mark 13 : 3 - 37
Chapter 13
| 3 | Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately,

| 4 | "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?"
|
| 5 | And Jesus, answering them, began to say: "Take heed that no one deceives you.
|
| 6 | For many will come in My name, saying, "I am He,' and will deceive many.
|
| 7 | But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet.
|
| 8 | For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.

| 9 | "But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them.

| 10 | And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.
|
| 11 | But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
|
| 12 | Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
|
| 13 | And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
|
| 14 | "So when you see the "abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let the reader understand), "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

| 15 | Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house.

| 16 | And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.
|
| 17 | But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!

| 18 | And pray that your flight may not be in winter.

| 19 | For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be.

| 20 | And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

| 21 | "Then if anyone says to you, "Look, here is the Christ!' or, "Look, He is there!' do not believe it.
|
| 22 | For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
|
| 23 | But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.

| 24 | "But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
|
| 25 | the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
|
| 26 | Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

| 27 | And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.
|
| 28 | "Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
|
| 29 | So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near--at the doors!
|
| 30 | Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.
|
| 31 | Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
|
| 32 | "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
|
| 33 | Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.
|
| 34 | It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.
|
| 35 | Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming--in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning--
|
| 36 | lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.
|
| 37 | And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!"
