The Proverbs of
Solomon son of David, who reigned in Israel; to
know wisdom and instruction, and to perceive
words of understanding; to receive also hard
saying, and to understand true justice, and how
to direct judgment; that he might give subtlety
to the simple, and to the young man discernment
and understanding. For by the hearing of these a
wise man will be wiser, and man of understanding
will gain direction; and will understand a
parable, and a dark speech; the saying of the
wise also, and riddles.

أمثال سليمان بن
داود الملك. الذي ملك على أسرائيل لمعرفة الحكمة
والأدب. لأدراك أقوال الفطنة. لقبول تدرب الكلام.
لتعليم العدل الحقيقي. والحكم المستقيم. لكي تعطي
لمن لا شر فيهم حكمة. وعقلا وفهما للشاب الحدث.
لأن الحكيم إذا سمع هذه فيزداد حكمة. والفهيم
يكتسب تدبيراً. فيفهم المثل والكلام العويص وأقوال
الحكماء وغوامضهم.
The fear of the
Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and there is
good understanding to all that practise it: and
piety toward God is the beginning of
discernment; but the ungodly will set at nought
wisdom and instruction. Hear, my son, the
instruction of thy father, and reject not the
rules of thy mother. For thou shalt receive for
thine head a crown of graces, and a chain of
gold round thy neck.

رأس الحكمة مخافة
الرب. والفهم صالح لكل من يعمل به. وتقوى الله هي
بدء الفهم. الحكمة والأدب يحتقرها المنافقون. أسمع
يا أبنى تأديب أبيك. ولا ترفض مشورة أمك. فأنهما
أكليل نعمة لرأسك وقلادة ذهب لعنقك. مجداً للثالوث
الأقدس.

Trinity, our God, forever and ever. Amen.

مجداً للثالوث
المقدس إلهنا إلى الأبد وإلى أبد الآبدين كلها.
آمين. بدء أمثال سليمان ص 1: 1 - 9 أمثال سليمان بن داود الملك. الذي ملك على أسرائيل
لمعرفة الحكمة والأدب. لأدراك أقوال الفطنة. لقبول تدرب الكلام. لتعليم العدل
الحقيقي. والحكم المستقيم. لكي تعطي لمن لا شر فيهم حكمة. وعقلا وفهما للشاب الحدث.
لأن الحكيم إذا سمع هذه فيزداد حكمة. والفهيم يكتسب تدبيرًا. فيفهم المثل والكلام العويص وأقوال الحكماء وغوامضهم.
رأس الحكمة مخافة الرب. والفهم صالح لكل من يعمل به. وتقوى الله هي بدء الفهم.
الحكمة والأدب يحتقرها المنافقون. أسمع يا أبنى تأديب أبيك. ولا ترفض مشورة أمك.
فأنهما أكليل نعمة لرأسك وقلادة ذهب لعنقك. مجدًا للثالوث الأقدس.
