I stopped, and he presented me to his father who was sitting on the ground with some others, I discovered that the “Father” who was sick was his father, and not a Father as in “Monk Father”, and he was staying here beside Gond Saint Taklehaimanot Monastery, and not in it as I thought! It was now 5:30 p.m., I asked him to show me the road to the Monastery on the other mountain, he told me: “Now the Monastery is closed”!! I asked him: “How so?! I’ll give it a try at least, I have a permission, and I came now to visit”. He showed me the way from a distance, but didn’t come with me.. After we talked a bit to make sure of the way, he came with me with another young man.. After we started climbing, they stopped suddenly, and told me about some kind of wild animals on the other side of the mountain, and they get out by sunset the same time.. From their description I thought they meant Hyenas or maybe wild wolves in that area! I didn’t want to take the risk, and didn’t know what to do, he told me: “Come spend the night with us, and go tomorrow morning to the Monastery!” I told him that I didn’t plan for that, and hadn’t born it in mind! He told me: “No problem.. Stay overnight with us”.. The way to the Monastery took more than four hours, and it was very hard to come again once more.. I agreed..
ثم توقف، وعرَّفني على والده الذي كان جالساً على الأرض ومعه بعض الأشخاص، واكتشفت أن الأب المريض هو والده، وليس أب راهب، وأنه مقيم بجوار دير جند تكلاهيمانوت وليس فيه كما ظننت! كانت الساعة وقتها هي في الخامسة والنصف، فأخبرته أن يريني طريق الدير على الجبل المقابل، فقال لي: "الآن الدير مغلق"!! فقلت له: كيف هذا؟! سأحاول على الأقل الزيارة، فأنا معي تصريح، وقد أتيت الآن للزيارة.. فأرشدني للطريق من بعيد، ولم يذهب معي.. وبعدما تحدثت معه قليلاً للتأكد من مكان الدير، أتى معي هو وشاب آخر.. ومع بداية صعودنا الجبل، توقفا فجأة، وأخبراني عن نوع من الحيوانات الشرسة على الجانب الآخر من الجبل، يخرج مع غروب الشمس في هذا الوقت.. ومن خلال وصفهم توسمت أنه هناك ضباع وربما ذئاب شرسة في تلك المنطقة! فلم أشأ المخاطرة، ولم أعرف ماذا أفعل، فقال لي: تعال بِت معنا اليوم، وغداً في الصباح اذهب إلى الدير! فقلت له أنني لم أخطط لهذا الأمر، ولم أعمل حسابه! فقال لي: "ما في مشكلة.. بات معنا اليوم".. وكان الطريق قد استغرق أكثر من أربعة ساعات، وكان صعباً أن آتي مرة أخرى.. فوافقت..

When we got back to the other mountain on the other side of the river, I discovered more new surprises.. And it wasn’t the last either!! The place that I saw his father on the ground, and that had some mentally sick people at the same group, was his home!!! And it was the place I would be spending the night in!! It was simply sleeping totally in the wilderness!!!
وعندما عندنا إلى الجبل الآخر على الضفة الثانية من النهر، اكتشفت مزيداً من المفاجئات.. ولم تكن هي الأخيرة أيضاً!! فقد كان المكان الذي رأيت فيه والده على الأرض، مع وجود أشخاص ذوي لوثة عقلية في نفس المجموعة، كان ذلك المكان هو منزله!!! وبالتالي كان هذا هو المكان الذي سأبيت فيه!! وهو ببساطة مبيت في غابة في العراء تماماً!!!
