Bahir Dar is a calm city, and it has nice palm trees in new streets..  It is not strange to see on the upper part of the palm tree trunk another tree growing of a different species!  Seems that one of the seeds some birds eat, comes down with their droppings over the fibrous part of the trunk, grows there, and uses the rain water..  And maybe it also leeches on the palm tree by digging its roots in the palm tree’s trunk..

بحر دار مدينة هادئة، وشوارعها الجديدة موضوع فيها أشجار نخيل جميلة..  وليس غريباً أن تجد شجرة نخيل في أعلاها على جذعها توجد شجيرة أخرى من نوع آخر!  فيبدو أن أحد البذور التي تأكلها الطيور، تسقط مع فضلات الطيور على جذوع الشجرة الليفية، وتُنبِت عليها، وتستقي من المطر..  وربما تكون تتطفل أيضاً على النخلة بغرس جذورها في جذع النخيل..
