148- To the BlueNile Falls

 إلى شلالات النهر الأزرق

On the way out from the office I saw in the Church garden some gorgeous birds..  One of them with a sky-blue color, and its back is brown, and the other, which is the male, had a bright blue color like the peacock, and white & black feathers in addition to brown.  And its tail had two white feathers, about 50 c. m. long!  Although the size of the bird is small.

في طريق الخروج من المكتب رأيت في حديقة الكنيسة بعض من الطيور الرائعة الجمال..  أحدها بلون لبني سماوي وظهره باللون البني، والآخر -وهو ذكر هذا النوع من الطيور- لونه أزرق لامع مثل الطاووس وريشه باللون الأبيض والأسود بالإضافة للبني.  وذيله به ريشتان بيضاوان، وطول الذيل يقترب من نصف متر!  على الرغم من أن حجم الطائر صغير..

I went to the bus station to go to the Blue Nile Falls, a private car would cost 200 Birr, and the public bus was 6 Birr..  I took the bus..  I wish I hadn’t!  In addition to being crowded, you have to close the windows, and bear with the smell of food, sweat and land..  If you open you’ll cause others to be annoyed, and you have to bear with insects (one of which are fleas, as I discovered the same night!!) and dust all the way long..  As the whole road -which took us about 90 minutes!- is not paved..  A dust road full of stones..

ذهبت لمحطة الأتوبيس لأذهب إلى شلالات النهر الأرزق، وكان تأجير عربة خاصة بـ200 بر، أما الأتوبيس العام فكان بـ6 بر..  وأخذت الأتوبيس..  ويا ليتني ما فعلت!  فبالإضافة للزحام، يجب عليك غلق الشباك، واحتمال رائحة الطعام والعرق والأرض..  وإذا فتحته ستتسبب في مضايقة المحيطين، وعليك احتمال الحشرات (وكان أحد أنواع الحشرات البراغيث حسبما اكتشفت مساء ذلك اليوم!!) والأتربة طوال الطريق..  حيث أن الطريق -والذي استغرق ساعة ونصف!- كله غير ممهد..  طريق ترابي مليء بالأحجار..
