36) Cave of Kedus Teklehimanot & The Holy Water

 مغارة القديس تكلاهيمانوت و الماء المقدس

Then we continued our way up the mountain, and my guide pointed out the Cave of Kedus Teklehaimanot, and it is carved in the mountain itself before the top of it with about 30 meters..  They put a door on the entrance (like the cave of His Holiness Pope Qirellos in Monastery of Deir El Baramous, Wadi El-Natroun in Egypt).  The outside walls had been painted in blue!  (Bishop Matheos built a short barrier at the borders of the Cave in 1986 {1978 Ethiopian Calendar}. then in 1992 {1985} Mr. Welde Mariam and his wife built the whole wall and put a door).  The door was closed, and the guide told the guard about me: “Gibs”, which means Coptic/Egyptian in Amharic Language, and that was like a key..  So I took off my shoes and entered the cave, and I prostrated to the ground in awe of the Holy place..  I found the floors wet, and holy water drops down from all the upper walls especially, it started from the time of Saint Takla Haimanout, and they put lots of plastic containers to collect the dropping water, also they made something like a basin to collect water from the original source..

بعد هذا أكملنا صعود الجبل، ثم أشار المرشد إلى مغارة القديس تكلا هيمانوت، وهي مغارة منحوتة في الجبل نفسه قبل القمة بما يقرب من ثلاثون متراً..  وكان قد تم وضع باب عليها، (مثل مغارة قداسة البابا كيرلس في دير البرموس، وادي النطرون، في مصر)، وتم دَهن الحائط الخارجي باللون الأزرق!  (قام الأسقف الأنبا ماتيئوس ببناء سور قصير على حدود المغارة عام 1986 [1978 بالتقويم الحبشي]، ثم قام السيد ولد مريم وزوجته عام 1992 [1985] بتعليه السور كله ووضع باب).  وكان الباب مغلقاً، فقال المرشد للحارس أنني من مصر من الكنيسة القبطية (جيبس "قبطي أو مصري" باللغة الأمهرية)، وكان هذا بمثابة المفتاح..  فخلعت الحذاء ودخلت المغارة، وسجدت على الأرض في رهبة المكان المقدس..  ووجدت الأرض مبتلة، وكل الحوائط العليا في الغالب يسقط منها ماء مقدس بدأ هنا في المغارة من وقت الأنبا تكلا هيمانوت، وقد تم وضع عشرات الآنية البلاستيك لتجميع الماء الساقط، كذلك تم عمل ما هو شبه حوض يتم تجميع الماء من المصدر الأصلي فيه..

I found on the left of the cave a veil of an Altar, and inside there was a simple Altar made of some kind of metal, and the Altar itself covered with traditional Ethiopian veils..  I kneeled inside and prayed for myself, my family and friends, the service of this website, and our church in Alexandria..

ووجد على يسار المغارة ستراً لهيكل، وفي الداخل مذبح بسيط من المعدن، ومغطى بستور من الفن الحبشي..  وسجدت وصليت من أجلي وأجل أسرتي وأصدقائي، وخدمة هذا الموقع، وكنيستنا في الإسكندرية..

Then I filled a bottle from this Holy Water that comes out from the cave of Saint Tekle Haymanout, to take it to our church and people in Egypt for blessing..

ثم أخذت ملأت زجاجة من الماء المقدس بمغارة القديس تكلاهيمانوت، لآخذه لكنيستنا والشعب في مصر للبركة..
